Have you realised how we associate fashion with personalities?

Even more specifically, we associate shoes with specific personalities.

For instance, if you see someone wearing high end heels, you see them as glamorous. But, if the same person is seen around in sneakers, they can be viewed as quite casual and basic.

So, what ends up happening is: you end up sacrificing class for comfort, and vice versa. But, this does not need to be the case. Here are 3 steps you can take to make sure that you are combining class and comfort when picking shoes.

1. Closed Back Instead of Rough Strap

This one mainly applies for female shoes.

Especially when working, make sure that you are wearing a closed back shoe instead of a rough strap. This is because you will be wearing the shoe for a longer period of time, and a rough strap can start irritating your skin, causing pain in the heel section.

2. Consider Orthotic Insoles

The right support for your foot should always be the priority.

However, if you are sure that you are unable to get the right class with comfortable shoes, you may flip to an alternative: insoles.

But, don’t just buy insoles that are pushed at you when buying shoes in a store. Simply, you need to be more specific.

Here, we suggest looking into orthotic insoles. They are usually a little pricey, but you’ll soon realise what you are paying for.

3. What Colour are You Wearing

Shoe colour is a part of the process which gets ignored sometimes.

We can talk of the material or the shape of the shoe. But, association with personality is also triggered through the colours that you are wearing.

For men, for instance, we have previously talked about colour combinations when wearing suits. Luckily, there are only 3 or 4 options. Read our blog on this topic here: Colourful Laces Trend - Bringing Sense to Expression.

The case for women is not much different either when you bring it down to looking classy. If you pick a subtle colour, you can pair it with almost all formal and informal wears. However, if you want something more flashy, you just need to make the same colours brighter. Matching these brighter colours with the right outfits is a little trickier. So, we suggest caution on this part.

Just remember the colours: black, brown, beige, blue, and grey. (If only grey had a name starting with b too).

Concluding Remarks

All in all, remember the impact of minimalism when combining class and comfort. As simple as that.

In fact, minimalism is quite prevalent in modern fashion, where shoe design is not much different.

A slight arch helps too, in terms of providing support, while bringing added class to the look.
