Tags - Looking after Your Shoes
Just because we have made great strides in shoe making does not mean that they don’t require constant care.
In fact, the one thing that has truly changed as a result of the said great strides in shoe making is the number of options that are now available for the consumers.
As a result, things have gotten a little trickier in terms of understanding how to take care of your shoes.
So, in this blog, we will not be covering each kind of shoe and how to take care of them. We will be producing content on each type we can think of, as the time passes.
Instead, in this blog, we will cover what not to do with any kind of shoes. This includes:
1. Putting Shoes in the Washing Machine
Contrary to popular belief, you can’t just put your shoes into the washing machine to get them cleaned.
Even the lowest power settings will damage the glue that keeps it all together.
And, after the wash, your shoe will just look dull and worn out, most probably because that is exactly what would have happened.
And, if you have bought machine washable shoes, you need to work on your choices in life.
2. Wearing the Same Pair Everyday
If you are reading this blog, chances are that you want to take care of your shoes.
Or, at least, you want to take better care of your favorite pair.
And, if you truly want to take care of your favourite pair, don’t wear it everyday.
To put it simply, when you wear a shoe for a whole day and go through your regular movements, you can imagine the structural challenges that the shoe faces.
Now imagine continued structural challenges with no breaks to cool off.
Just like the human body, you need to give your shoes some rest.
So, rotate through your options and all your pairs will last longer.
3. Putting in Wet Feet
This one is a double whammy.
To begin, the interior of shoes is not designed to withstand moisture.
All that resistance is maintained for the external surface of the shoe.
So, by putting in wet feet, you will begin by rotting your shoes from the inside, which can later turn to damage that you can never recover from.
The bigger problem here is the associated health concerns.
